Why should we read books?
Hi, I’m Dong Qing. As we can see, our life is now filled with the Internet, TV and computer games. Fewer and fewer people enjoy reading. Some people may even ask themselves, “Well, why should I read?” But I still believe that reading is important. Here’re some of my reasons.
First, reading is a nice way to relax after a day’s work. When you read, you’re really a part of the story and forget about yourself for a moment. Next, reading different types of books will help improve your knowledge and culture. You will open yourself to the sea of knowledge. This is great because knowledge and culture is always useful in your daily life. Besides, you learn lots of words to understand different meanings. So you can collect more information for your report. More importantly, reading can also bring people together. You can also join a book club with your friend so you can share your ideas about books.
A book is a bridge and the knowledge is the bridge to success. Books can give us power and let us grow. So why don't we read books? Let's read books and find happiness from reading together!
3. Read and make up a similar dialogue and talk about your favourite type of books in pairs.
A: What do you like reading in your spare time?
B: I…
A: What is it about?
B: …
A: Why do you like it?
